Rematch transforms discarded footwear and polyurethane waste into circular materials powering a regenerative, inclusive, and modular industrial future
Long description
Rematch is a circular innovation system that transforms discarded footwear and polyurethane waste into sustainable, high-value materials for construction and industry. Through our program Segundo Pie, we recover used work boots and collect sole offcuts and polyurethane purges from manufacturers. These are transformed into modular products like Rematch Panels, Blocks, and Additives — designed to replace virgin materials and reduce emissions. Each unit produced prevents over 9 kg of CO₂eq, totaling more than 100 tonnes of CO₂eq avoided annually. Our long-term vision is to deploy mobile, modular processing units worldwide, enabling local circular economies and job creation. At its core, Rematch challenges the status quo of footwear waste by converting it into measurable climate action. We believe circular design, when made accessible and scalable, can reshape how industry handles waste — one sole, one block, one community at a time.
