Long description

Loose Parts is a circular design studio using single-source materials and traditional joinery to build interiors that last—and disassemble. Kitchens are one of the most frequently renovated spaces in the home and a major source of waste. Most kitchen systems rely on MDF, glues, and laminates—materials that cannot be repaired, refinished, or reused. Once damaged or outdated, they are destined for landfill.

This project scales Loose Parts’ debut circular kitchen system by developing new joinery techniques, integrating reclaimed materials, and expanding the system’s aesthetic range. The objective is to position circular kitchens as high-design, durable alternatives to wasteful, trend-based systems—pushing the industry toward lasting, circular solutions.

With support from WDCD, Loose Parts will prototype new systems, collaborate with material suppliers and fabricators, and grow its market presence—establishing circular kitchens as the new standard in interior design.
