A storytelling-driven initiative reconnecting cocoa growing communities and consumers through design, education, and reparative action across the global chocolate industry.
Chocolate Has A Name is a storytelling and design-led initiative that reframes chocolate sustainability from a “bean to bar” narrative to people-first, “cultivator to consumer” model.
Rooted in lived experience and cultural heritage, our project connects cocoa-farming communities in West Africa with the cultural, economic, and creative value of the chocolate they grow.
Through immersive storytelling workshops, upcycled cocoa sack tote bags and cultural festivals, we create a circular, reparative design ecosystem that educates UK consumers, paying it forward to Cocoa farming communities.
Our work challenges colonial legacies embedded in the global cocoa industry by returning agency, dignity and visibility to cocoa farming communities.
With a cocoa lab under construction in a rural Ghanaian school and successful partnerships across the UK and Europe, we are now ready to scale.
