AquaSensor Flood Alert is a real-time flood monitoring system designed to prevent disasters and protect communities in Kenya’s flood-prone areas. Developed by two second-year university students, this innovation uses a hybrid ultrasonic sensor to accurately measure water depth, even in muddy or foamy conditions. The system transmits real-time data to a central control unit, enabling early warnings, evacuation alerts, and flood risk analysis.

By integrating with network services and government agencies, AquaSensor enhances disaster preparedness, helping reduce loss of life and property damage. Flash floods, a major challenge in Kenya, often strike unpredictably—this system provides critical, early detection to enable swift response. With its cost-effective and scalable design, AquaSensor can be deployed in urban and rural settings, making it a game-changer in flood resilience for vulnerable communities.
